The 24th Annual Sarasota Film Festival - April 1- 10

Founded in 1998, the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) has grown to be a ten-day festival that plays independent and international narratives, docs and shorts that are programmed into a schedule of over 200 films. Festival events include socially-driven parties and private receptions to honor guest filmmakers, community-wide street festivals, and the black-tie Filmmakers Tribute Dinner. International Chalk Festival - April 1- 3

It’s a museum in motion as professional pavement artists from around the world use chalk as their medium and the pavement as their surface with a few pushing mind-boggling boundaries. You are an integral part of the creative process as the viewer witnessing each artist’s creative process, turning the pavement into a museum in motion while creating oversized masterpieces in chalk! Circus Sarasota 2022 February 11 – March 6

Sarasota’s hometown circus, Circus Sarasota, is ready to bring chills, thrills and laughs aplenty to audiences of all ages from February 11 through March 6. Featuring new and innovative acts, Circus Sarasota 2022 will offer high-flying action, heart-stopping thrills, laugh-out-loud comedic antics, and acts that defy both expectations and the boundaries of physical limitations. The 24th Annual Thunder By The Bay Music & Motorcycle Festival is a three day event held at the Sarasota Fairgrounds to benefit Suncoast Charities for Children. 1926 Sarasota: A Guided Walking Tour Experience February 25

Time travel with us to 1926 - a year of boom and bust, joy and sorrow. Experience downtown Sarasota through this historic and pivotal year. Each tour is approximately 75-90 minutes in length. Siesta Key Crystal Classic - November 12 - 15

Buy your tickets to enjoy close-up sand sculpture viewing inside the Sand Village! Twenty-four artists converge on Siesta Key to compete in an amazing Master Sand Sculpting competition. The sculptors create a large community of carvings featuring eight solo sculptures and eight team sculptures. On Saturday evening, enjoy these wondrous works of sand art under colored lights after sunset. The timed competition is judged, and the winners are revealed on Sunday afternoon.

50th Sunfish World Championship - October 24 - 29

100 Pre-Qualified World Sailors will compete in the 50th Sunfish World Championship. The sailors come from Peru, Chile, Guatemala, The Bahamas, the US Virgin Islands, Aruba, Curacao, Ecuador, Bonaire, Columbia, Italy and the USA. The week-long sailing event will culminate in an awards banquet held at Bird Key Yacht Club. The public is welcome to come out and watch using their own boats.

Sistas in the Name of Soul - June 1 - 6

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe is bringing back one of its biggest hits for its third run, as its Light Up the Night Outdoor Concert Series continues. The concert is a celebration of female rhythm and blues and soul singers from the 1970s, including Freda Payne, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pointer Sisters. Audiences will hear such hits as "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Respect," and "Band of Gold." Easter Egg Hunt - April 3

The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Children’s Party on Saturday, April 3, 2021, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The Chamber welcomes the volunteer support of community individuals and the Siesta Key Kiwanis Club. This event will be held at Siesta Key’s Turtle Beach (8699 Turtle Beach Road). Turtle Beach is approximately 2.3 miles south of Stickney Road on Midnight Pass Road. Free parking is available at Turtle Beach.

Activities include an egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, a fire truck and ambulance drive-by at 10 a.m., children’s games and prizes, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol, and an animal education session with Big Cat Habitat’s Stella the Sloth at 10:30 a.m.

Sarasota Spring Craft Show - April 10 -11

A new art and craft experience begins April 10-11 in JD Hamel Park with the premiere of the Sarasota Spring Craft Show. This unique marketplace of original handmade arts and crafts showcases items that will beautify your home and workplace and provide special gifts for family and friends. The event is hosted by the Downtown Sarasota Enrichment Association (DSEA) with the Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC), the event’s Special Guest. Admission is FREE! Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The work found in this art and craft marketplace is created and produced by the artisans and crafters journeying to the event from across the United States. Santa Claus Visits South Siesta Key- December 20

The 32nd annual Pumpkin Festival is happening every weekend this month! There will be live demonstrations, music, shows and interactions throughout the festival and different activities offered each day.

The farmer’s market and pumpkin patch are always open during the week from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. to pick out a pumpkin, fall decorations or grab some local farm fresh produce and snap your annual family photos in the pumpkin patch.
