Things To Do On Siesta Key
With the crystal white sands of America's Best Beach just steps away, gulf side and bayside pools, two tennis courts, picnic areas, and more, there is never a shortage of things to do at Midnight Cove, but our little piece of paradise is certainly worth exploring and our location in the heart of Siesta Key puts it all at your fingertips.
Siesta Key boasts 3 world-class beaches Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach, each with its own unique charm, all well worth a visit.
Our most popular beach, Siesta Beach has been recognized as America's Best Beach by Dr. Beach, America's foremost beach expert. Siesta Beach offers a playground, tennis and beach volleyball courts, and concessions stands. Siesta Public Beach is protected by on-duty lifeguards.
Besting over 30 entrants, the crystal white sand of Crescent Beach was named "The World's Finest, Whitest Sandâ„¢" at the Great International Sand Challenge in 1987 and the Travel Channel recognized it as "The Best Sand Beach in America" in 2004. Just south of Siesta Beach and with only one public access, Crescent beach offers a more secluded beach experience that is perfect spot to cuddle of with a great beach book or that special someone.
A favorite among locals, Turtle Beach on the southern tip of the island offers picnic areas, a volleyball court, horseshoe pit and playground, and fishing is permitted in nearby Blind Pass Lagoon. Unlike the powdery white sands of Crescent and Siesta Beaches, the sand on Turtle Beach is darker and coarser.
Just two miles north of Midnight Cove, you'll find Siesta Key Village with its many quaint, beachy shops and high-end boutiques, restaurants ranging from the very casual to the very finest of dining, and the fresh seafood that you expect on the Gulf of Mexico, exciting night life and a dynamic music scene.
There's no place like Siesta Key for lovers of water sports. You'll be able to enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, fishing, and more. Rent a boat for some offshore fun or enjoy the balmy breezes of the Gulf of Mexico on a private boat charter, sailing charter, fishing charter, sunset or dolphin cruise.
The calm, shallow waters and limestone ledges of Point of Rocks on the southern tip of Crescent Beach are great for bird watching and the plentiful marine life make the snorkeling a must.
Back on land, bike and scooter rentals are a great way to explore this 8-mile stretch of paradise or, if you are looking for something different, try a guided Segway tour of the Mangrove Forests in the area and don't miss the Siesta Key Drum Circle every Sunday, just before sunset, to celebrate the day's end and another perfect sunset.
If you're looking for a more relaxing experience, try yoga or Pilates on the beach or check out one of our many wonderful day spas for a rejuvenating massage or facial, and hair and nail salons that will help get you ready for a night out on the town.
And speaking of a night out on the town, did we tell you about all the wonderful things to do after the sun sets?
Be sure to check out Siesta Key Village after dark for wonderful restaurants, live music, night clubs, bars and more, or check out the many restaurants and bars located just a few blocks from Midnight Cove, just south of where Stickney Point Road becomes Midnight Pass Road.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that we're just a few minutes away from the cultural hub of Sarasota and a short ride from Bradenton, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, if you feel like spreading your wings a bit.
